The Style Files: Angie Hranowsky

Angie Hranowsky

      {The Lovely and Supremely Talented Graphic and Interior Designer, Angie Hranowsky}

 Angie Hranowsky is hands-down, one of my absolute favorite interior designers. I know that I would feel right at home in any space she had designed! I find the way that she uses color and mixes high and low-priced items to be incredibly refreshing. Not only are the spaces she designs beautiful and inspiring, they feel attainable. Angie often combines classic, traditional pieces with vintage or eclectic items, creating a layered, highly personalized look. Angie started out as a graphic designer and eventually went on to pursue her interest in interior design at Parsons School of Design in New York in 2004. She currently practices both graphic and interior design and has clients throughout the country. Angie’s work has been featured in many publications including Domino, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, and Coastal Living. Angie and her family currently reside in Charleston, South Carolina.

LDV: What inspired you to begin your career in interior design?

AH: I have been passionate about interiors for as long as I can remember. Although I have a BA in art history and went to graduate school for graphic design I have consistently been doing my own interiors since I was 18. After moving to Charleston in 2000, people would see my house and ask why I wasn’t doing this for a living. I loved it and soon asked myself the same question. So in 2005, I started adding interior clients to my graphic design business.

LDV: What do you love most about it? What is the most challenging aspect?

AH: Researching, concepting and finding all of the right elements that will pull a room together. Seeing all of those ideas come together. I also love working with my amazing clients which often turn into wonderful friendships.

Right now expanding my business as it grows and finding the time to do things like a blog which I’m currently setting up. Also, finding a balance between work and being a mom to two young children. I am so fortunate and love having two such fulfilling roles in my life.

AH: The success of my interior design business and my beautiful children, Loulou & Sasha.

LDV: What is your idea of living “la dolce vita”?
