New York Fashion Week is well under way and there are already several collections that I absolutely love. One of my current favorites is that of Lela Rose. I love it for its lady-like, polished silhouettes as well as the use of a classic color palette mixed with fun, bold colors. All of the pieces are so wearable and Rose included a fantastic mix of dresses and separates. The collection was an homage to Peru, which Rose is planning to visit. Rather than traveling to Peru for inspiration, she created the collection as an homage to local Peruvian artisans through her use of colors, shapes, and accessories.
Whether intentional or not, the collection seems to be divided into neutral pieces and very bold, bright pieces. They actually work beautifully together. Which part of the collection do you most identify with? Would you be more likely to wear the neutral pieces or the bold ones?
