This library is part of an incredible mansion on the Upper East Side of Manhattan designed by Pamplemousse. For the record, the word “mansion” irks me to no end. Its use usually comes across as juvenile in my opinion, but this home is indeed a bona fide manse. The scale of the rooms throughout the home is rather impressive, as is the interior design.
This amazing library really stood out to me because it is my idea of heaven! I was just telling my husband a couple of nights ago, that I would be completely happy if every gift I received for the rest of my life was a book. They thrill me! There is no better way to travel into one’s imagination than through a book and this fabulous room is filled with them! I really like the grey-purple hue of the walls along with the variety of interesting chairs and the long table in the center of the room. The library has an eclectic look that works so well in a room like this. It isn’t formal at all, but the slight messiness of it all gives it a fabulous air of eccentricity.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Don’t forget to support grassroots film-making by watching the movie CA$H if it is playing in your city this weekend!
Be sure to stop by Monday when I will be revealing a fabulous giveaway for the home.
